Jonah has a few anger issues.
He decided this weekend that he didn't want to do his homework. Granted, this is Kindergarten homework, so involves coloring, single digit additions etc.
Through to Sunday dinner, we allowed him to do just a page at a time, to allow him to spread it out and not be overwhelmed, but was getting worse about avoiding the last page and finally said he wasn't going to do it.
I told him that every piece of electronics in the house was going off until he was done with that last page. He screamed "NO!" and went to his room and proceeded to slam his door repeatedly. For the first few minutes, Lisa and I both thought that he would run out of gas and just go lay down in his bed. Finally, I lost it and was heading towards his room with the intention of, um, well "laying down the law" so to speak. I was about half way to the door when Jonah came out, slammed the door one more time with a terrified look on his face. I asked what was up and he pointed at his closed door, said "LOOK!" and then ran to the couch and put a pillow over his head.
I opened the door and was literally speechless.
There is a piece of plywood holding up the edges now until I can get to fixing it. Maybe after finals are over...
